One of the most important aspects of SEAONC membership is participation in committees. Committees in SEAONC cover a wide variety of aspects of the structural engineering practice, from code development to community service. All SEAONC members are strongly encouraged to actively participate on committees. With the launch of the new website, committees will become an even more important part of the organization. Blogs, wikis, and surveys are just some of the new tools that every committee now has to assist in fulfilling their charges. There is also the ability to collaborate with other committees as well as share information with the rest of the SEAONC membership through the Technical Forum.
An overview of all committees is listed here. If you have an interest in a particular committee, simply choose the committee from the Committee Menu (you must be logged in) and at the bottom of the committee page, simply click on "Subscribe to group". Committee chairs will be able to approve new committee members, allowing access to even more committee content. Committee chairs will also send out notifications to current committee members to subscribe to the committee page as well. By doing so, they will be able to maintain an up-to-date roster.
There has never been a better time to participate on a committee. So what are you waiting for?
