Which committee are you currently a chair of? Also give a brief description of the committee.
DES - Currently the Co-Vice Chair of the Disaster Emergency Response Committee. We plan ATC-20 trainings, manage a disaster response plan, work with the city on BORP, and many other things!
How long have you been a structural engineer?

What are your favorite things about being involved in the committee you currently chair?
Good way to get leadership experience and create relationships with others in the industry.
What will the Committee focus on this year?
Currently planning our second virtual ATC-20 training for this Spring!
What are some of the past projects/accomplishments of the committee you are chairing?
We just published the first round of the Disaster Response Plan which gives SEAONC a guide on how to respond post various sizes and types of disasters.
Why are you involved in SEAONC?
I enjoy attending the seminars to learn more about the industry in a broader sense and creating relationships with engineers from other firms in the Bay Area
What are you most proud of?
I'm currently finishing up a project for UCSF on the ZSFG campus. It is a new design research and academic building, and I'm proud to see it finishing!
How has being a SEAONC member helped you and/or your career?
Building relationships - they are invaluable
Tell us something about yourself that isn’t on your professional resume?
I ran a marathon a few years back - was probably the hardest thing I've ever done!
What do you enjoy most about structural engineering?
I really enjoy modeling the building in analysis software - I can get lost in it for hours.
Give one piece of advice to your colleagues.
Get involved! It is a good use of your time and a good way to grow.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I'm getting married this Fall :)
